Barry Wold, 70, of Mabel and formerly of Spring Grove, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

A Spring Grove High School graduate, he played football and the tuba. He went on to play football at Winona State University.

He joined the United States Army and served on the DMZ Line in Korea, as well as in Vietnam. Upon his return to Spring Grove, he worked on his farms and built his trucking business, Wold Trucking.

He is survived by his 91-year-old mother, Jane; his former wife, Mary; three children, Eric Wold, Nicole (Josh) Ranzenberger and Amanda (Bill) Dewey; his grandchildren, Madison Thompson, Piper Thompson, Austin Martinez, Peyton Thompson, Roman Martinez, Dashua Ranzenberger, Tucker Ranzenberger, Maverick Ranzenberger and Ainsley Jane Dewey. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Janet) Wold and his sister, Susan (Bill) Goodman; his nieces, Melissa Wold, Lara (Abe) Mendez and Suzanne (Eric) Burkness, and also great- nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hildus.

Funeral services were held last Thursday, Nov. 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with the Rev. Zane Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Church Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post# 297 of Spring Grove
