Vivian A. Walker, 98, of Lake City, died Monday, Nov. 19, at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.

She was born April 9, 1914, in Welcome, Minn., to Clinton and Emma (Johnson) Eastman. She grew up in the Mapleton area and graduated from Mapleton High School in 1933. After graduation, she went to cosmetology school in Minneapolis.

She married Kenneth Walker Aug. 6, 1935, in Mankato.

She was a nursing assistant at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel for 18 years.

In 1980, she and her husband moved to Lake City. Mr. Walker died Nov. 11, 1980.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, handwork and flowers. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was active in many church groups there, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed her birthday celebrations.

She is survived by four children, Quentin Walker of Miles City, Mont., Carmen (Ron) Steinberg of Waterville, Minn., Thomas (Pat) Walker of Englewood, Ohio, and Terrance (Karen) Walker of Lake City, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Somerville and Francis Walker of Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Walker; one son, Royce Walker; two brothers, Wendell and Kenneth Eastman; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Walker, and one great-grandson, Shawn Walker.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Valley View Assembly of God Church in Lake City with the Rev. Don Still officiating. Burial was at Morrow Cemetery in Mapleton, Minn.
