Fillmore County Sheriff Daryl Jensen has announced Jacob Ristau of Preston has been selected as one of the winners of the 2014 Minnesota Sheriffs Association Scholarship Program.
The Mabel-Canton cheerleaders and their advisor, Heather Kleiboer, will be hosting its winter cheerleading camp for anyone in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. The spirit camp will be held in the Mabel-Canton High School gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Three members of the Fillmore Central FFA Chapter traveled to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., held Oct. 29 through Nov. 1. Kayla Biel, Alex Love and Domanic Merkel were chaperoned by FFA advisor Jenelle Thorman and traveled with a delegation of over 100 FFA members from southeast Minnesota to join more than 60,000 FFA members from across the country for the 87th annual convention.
