The Harmony steering committee for Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce plans for its fifth annual Harmony Hustle in support of Habitat for Humanity.
This year's Hustle will take place on Saturday, July 5, and will include a 10K Run, 5K Fun Run/Walk and a 1K Kids Challenge. The event will be held at the Harmony Visitor Center with the 10K starting at 7:30 a.m., 5K starting at 9 a.m. and the 1K Kids Challenge starting at 10 a.m.
Over the last four years, the Harmony Hustle has raised more than $18,000 for Habitat for Humanity projects, including a home built in Harmony and several A Brush With Kindness projects completed in Harmony, Lanesboro and Spring Valley. These projects were made possible by the wonderful race participants and the local business sponsors.
This year's proceeds will help fund additional A Brush
With Kindness projects in and around Harmony.
Plan on participating in the Harmony Hustle on July 5. One can participate individually or as part of a group. This is a great family fun opportunity or get a group of friends or co-workers together for a fun outing (maybe a little friendly competition). One can run or walk, whatever one can do is OK. Organizers stress that this is a fun event!
Entry fees are $25 per person for the 10K and 5K, participants 10 and under are free. Entry fees for the 1K Kids Challenge, for kids 10 and under, are $5.
One can register online at http://www.habitatwinona.org/events/harmony-hustle-2 or mail in a registration or register on race day.
Please fill out a separate registration form for every participant in the group. Paying once is acceptable, just make a note of who is included in the payment.
Race day registration will be Saturday, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the Harmony Visitor Center, located on Main Avenue, near the intersection of Highways 52 and 139.
The run will take place on the scenic Harmony-Preston Valley Bike Trail from the Visitors Center out and back.
Awards will be presented for the first, second and third place finishers in the 10K. Participants in the 5K will receive awards for finishing first place in each age division and overall winners.
All participants in the Kids Challenge will receive a prize
All registrants will receive a bag filled with surprises. T-shirts are available for an additional $10. Water and refreshments will be provided for participants.
