FC boys lose to D-E

It's rather rare that a team would have more free throw attempts than field goal tries in a game, but that's what happened in the Fillmore Central loss to the Dover-Eyota Eagles last week. The guys had 26 field goal attempts and 27 shots from the line, in the 41-29 TRC loss.
And in neither case did the Falcons shoot very well. The team only hit eight of 26, 30.8 percent, from the field, and a dismal, 44.4 percent, 12 of 27, at the charity line. Two individual exceptions were Zach Case, one for one, and Dan Gatzke, four for six.
At the line, Carter Rindels was two for two, Logan Masters three for four, and Andrew Coyle hit three of four.
Another bright spot was the play of senior Michael Walsh. Walsh had limited time on the floor and led the team with three steals.
Dan Gatzke led the team with six rebounds and nine points. Jacob Tammel contributed eight points. Nobody else had more than three points. The 29 points of offense is a season low for the Falcons.
Fillmore Central played at Southland last Friday night and then will be off until a Thursday, Jan. 3, tilt at Lanesboro. The game with Houston was postponed and has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 4.
