The Fillmore Central volleyball team has improved its record to 12-2, overall, and 5-1 in the Three Rivers Conference with recent wins over Cresco (3-0), Chatfield (3-2: 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20 15-9) and Dover-Eyota (3-0: 25-20, 25-19 25-23).

In the big rivalry against Chatfield, the gals had to come back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to get the five set (game) win. Taylor Case had a monstrous match with 28 kills, 25 digs, 13/15 serving and 27/27 in serve receive. Case got very able assistance at the net from Tor Peterson (9 kills), Kaitlynn Aug (3 blocks), Leah Scheevel (5 kills, 3 blocks), Sammi Bakke (6 kills, 3 blocks) and Morgan Malley (2 blocks, 39 set assists). Coming up with perfect serving were Sammi Bakke (22/22) and Danielle Zinsmaster (8/8). Zinsmaster was also 15/15 in serve receive. Chelsea Rislove had 21 digs on defense and came up with 18 of 20 service receptions.

Morgan Malley put the ball high in the air for a Tor Peterson kill and her 1,000th career set assist in the second game against the Gophers.

In the Three Rivers Conference win over Dover-Eyota, Morgan Malley had another 32 set assists and a perfect night, 14/14, at the service line. Tor Peterson had three ace serves and eight kills in the win over the Eagles. Taylor Case led the team with 14 kills in the three set win. Defensive specialist Sara Schultz was 12/12 in SR. Leah Scheevel (6), Sammi Bakke (5) and Kaitlynn Aug (3) were also busy at the net for the Lady Falcons.

This past Monday night the gals traveled to Cresco and picked up a 3-0 non-conference win against the Cadets. No stats were available at the time of this writing.

The B squad got a three set win over Chatfield and the eighth graders won 25-9, 25-17 and 25-15. Travis Malley coaches the Fillmore Central B squad and Jordana Whalen is the coach for the eighth graders. The eighth grade team lost to Kingsland (0-2) and beat Rushford-Peterson, 2-1.

Thursday night the gals travel to Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Saturday they are in LeRoy for a tournament.
