Fillmore Central boys now 2-5

In the most recent game, the Fillmore Central boys lost to Southland, 59-36, dropping the team's record to 2-5 for the season. The Falcons are 1-5 in Three Rivers Conference play.
The B squad is currently 6-1 for the season. When the "Bombers" were fifth and sixth graders they only had four players in their grade playing basketball. The B squad was using sixth and fifth graders to fill out their roster then. While they still use ninth graders on the B squad, they now have seven boys in the 10th grade playing basketball.
Through six games, the varsity scoring leader is Dan Gatzke, averaging 14.50 points per game. Nick Powell is also in double-figures, averaging 12.50/game. Jake Tammel is at 6.50 ppg and Andy Coyle is averaging 6.00 points/game.
Gatzke is tops in rebounding, 9.0/game, with Powell coming in at 7.7 rpg.
Nick Powell has made 10 three-points so far this season and Jake Tammel is right behind with eight.
Powell leads the team in free throw percentage, hitting 54.8 percent of his charity tosses, with Carter Rindels coming in at 54.6 percent.
Logan Masters is one of the assist leaders in the conference, averaging 5.3 per game.
The boys will open the new year with a visit to Lanesboro on Thursday, Jan. 3, and a home game with Winona Cotter on Saturday, Jan. 5.
