With consistent passing and serving, Lanesboro won 25-16, 25-18, 25-14. The Burros took the early lead in all three sets and kept up the pressure, coach Bobbie Vickerman reported.

Steph Erickson had 7 set assists and 8 ace serves. Megan Kiehne added 5 ace serves and 4 digs. Sydney Johnson notched 5 kills, 1 block, and 3 aces served. Kaia Hongerholt had 3 kills as did Regan Howerton, Madison Ming, and Olivia Haug. Hongerholt also contributed 4 ace serves and 2 digs. Ming had 4 blocks, 2 aces, and 1 set assist. Howerton chipped in an assist and a block. Haug also blocked a shot. Linnea Thiss had 10 set assists. Bailey Gartner put away 2 kills.

"It was a great victory for the girls and showed how they can work together as a team. All our players contributed to the victory." Vickerman said.

Lanesboro at Hope Lutheran

After a first set marathon that went 34-32 in Hope's favor, the Burros took set two 25-21. Set three was a nail-biter, going to the Patriots 25-23. The fourth set also was won by Hope, 25-21.

"After a long drawn out first game it was a battle until the end," Vickerman reported. "The Burros were ahead every game, but let Hope back into each game and Hope overcame the Burros in three of the four games. The Burros won the second game without challenge but could not hold on to the other games. Missed serves hurt the Burros and the transition off the net also was an issue. The girls worked hard and it was a game that could have been won."

Johnson led LHS in serving, passing, and hitting, recording 6 kills, 3 digs, and 7 ace serves. Vickerman noted that "as a captain," she showed a strong sense of leadership, as did Kiehne, who "did a great job of passing."

Ming put away 6 kills, had a set assist, 2 blocks, and an ace serve. Hongerholt had 6 kills, 3 digs, and 4 ace serves. Thiss had 10 set assists and 2 ace serves. Haug had 4 kills. Erickson had 9 set assists, 3 digs, and an ace. Howerton had two kills. Kiehne had 3 digs, and Gartner added a set assist.
