Thinclads compete at Chatfield Invite

Seven teams, including Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton competed at the Chatfield Invitational track and field meet on April 8. Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander/Southland won the team title in women's events, while Chatfield came in first in boys' competitions.
The Burro ladies took third, 1.5 points behind Dover Eyota, while the boys finished fourth behind the Gophers, R-P/H, and GM/L-O/S.
L/FC/M-C posted plenty of top five (team point earning) finishes.
Olivia Haug won both the shot put (32-01) and discuss (115-04). Kiera Olson won the 3200M run in 12:09.
Leah Ruen took second in the 1600M. The 4x400M relay squad of Leah Scheevel, Rachel Kimball, Cassidy Ruud, and Kenzie Broadwater also took second, as did the 4x800M relay featuring Scheevel, Paige Bennet, Rachel Eversole, and Sara Vettleson-Trutza.
Broadwater also took third in two individual events, the 100M and 200M dash. Bennet took third in the 400M dash, while Bailey Ruen got third in the 800M run. The 4x400M team of Maggie Decker, Kendyl Bennet, Ruen, and Paige Bennet took third, as did the 4x800 squad of Kendyl Bennet, Olson, Alyssa Gathje, and Ruen.
Eversole took fourth in the 300M hurdles.
Scheevel got fifth in the 200M dash, and Vettleson-Trutza took fifth in the 400M. Decker also scored a fifth place finish in pole vault.
For the boys, Gabe Decker won the 100M dash in 11.90. Niko Anderson won the 200M in 24.94. Zach Voeltz won both the 800M and 1600M run. His times were 2:14.82 and 5:01.66, respectively.
Anderson, Damon Zutz, Alex Reed, and Decker took second in the 4x100M relay. Reed also scored a second place in triple jump.
Zutz got third in the 200M dash. The 4x800M relay of Layton Howerton, Steven Rein, Treyton Chiglo, and Matthew Kiehne also finished third.
There were no fourth place finishes for the boys, but Eric Holst scored a fifth in discuss throw.
On Thursday, April 17, L/FC/M-C is set to travel to Lewiston-Altura for a varsity track meet.
