Wrestlers take third at Wisconsin tourney

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/Mabel-Canton took third place at the seven-team La Crosse Logan Invitational Saturday.
Host team Logan won the tourney, followed by Arcadia. The tourney had all Wisconsin teams except for the Wolves.
FC/L/M-C had five champions in the tourney. The five all extended their perfect records to 6-0 for the season by the end of the day.
Andy Love was the champion at 145 lbs., winning the title match by fall in 59 seconds over Michael Prokop of Arcadia. Connor Hanson took first at 152 lbs., winning 5-1 over Ryan Gulich of Saint Croix Central (SCC) in the final match. Tom Henry won at 170 lbs., pinning Hunter Tulip of Arcadia in the championship. Niko Anderson was champion at 182 lbs., winning 3-1 in overtime against Brian Gibb of SCC. Monty Holm took first place at 195 lbs., pinning Richie Hotelling of Arcadia in 4:42.
Alex Fishbaugher took third place at 132 lbs. and Trevor Barnes took third place at 160 lbs., while Korby Koch took fourth at 126 lbs. and Jacob Thomas took fifth at 285 lbs.
The Wolves wrestled in two dual meets at La Crescent on Tuesday, Dec. 10. They beat La Crescent 51-24, but lost a tight one to Stewartville 36-33.
Against La Crescent, there were forfeits at 106,113, 120, 126, 132, 170, 182, 195 and 285. The competitive results - 138: Gabe Decker, FCLM, dec. Jon Wilson, LAC, 5-1. 145: Andy Love, FCLM, dec. Thor Sandven, LAC, 5-4. 152: Connor Hanson, FCLM, pinned Brady Barton, LAC, 4:46. 160: Trevor Barnes, FCLM, dec. Cole Flannery, LAC, 7-2. 220: Monty Holm, FCLM, pinned Tom Wieser, LAC, 0:26.
Against Stewartville, FCLMC forfeited the first four weights. Other results - 132: Hunter Johnson, STW, pinned Alex Fishbaugher, FCLM, 3:07. 138: Brady Keefe, STW, pinned Gabe Decker, FCLM, 3:19. 145: Andy Love, FCLM, pinned Jake Goeldi, STW, 1:43. 152: Connor Hanson, FCLM, dec. The Wolves were scheduled to travel to Plainview to take on a strong Plainview-Elgin-Millville team Tuesday before preparing for their large holiday tournament at home on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Winona/Winona Cotter, Hayfield, La Crescent and Stewartville are some of the teams that will be there.
