As the colorful leaves of the autumn season begin to appear, there will be some special events held in October at the historic Lenora United Methodist Church.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, a World Wide Communion service will be held at 3 p.m. This is an ecumenical celebration of the sacrament of communion. There will be special music performed within the walls of the old church and it will be a very festive afternoon.
Brad and JulAnn Boice will perform a beautiful afternoon of singing with some very inspiring and uplifting music for the entire family on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. Brad is also known in the area as an outstanding Elvis tribute artist.
Currently, the Lenora United Methodist Church building, which is on the National Register of Historic Buildings, is being repainted along with some window caulking and general repairs. The adjacent Lenora House is now completed for people to use.
It has been a busy and fun year at Lenora. Local organizers hope to see many in October for these special events. Further announcements will be made for the Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas season in the near future.
One is always welcome at the 1856 Lenora church! It is located near Canton on Fillmore County Road 23.
A free-will offering will be received during each special service to help with maintenance and repair costs at the church and Lenora house.
