Interested person sought to
fill open Harmony council seat
Wednesday, March 19, 2014 4:30 AM
The Harmony City Council is currently seeking someone to fill the council seat being vacated by Councilor Jim Bakken.
Bakken informed the council of his intent to resign from his position at the end of May as he and his family are moving out of the community.
The council has opted to seek an interested community member to fill his term, which ends at the end of 2014, rather than leave the seat empty until the election in November.
If one is interested in serving on the city council, contact Jerome Illg at the city office, Mayor Steve Donney or any of the other city council members, Jerry Shuck, Deb Swenson or Lynn Mensink.
One may also fill out an application online at www.harmony.mn.us to be considered for the position. One may also email email@example.com or call the city office at (507) 886-8122 for more information.
The application deadline is March 31.
Illg explained that the council hopes to be able to interview the potential candidates at the April council meeting so the individual is ready to take the seat when Bakken leaves following the May council meeting.
