Area townships held their annual meetings and elections last Tuesday evening throughout Fillmore County. The following supervisors and officers were elected. The clerks' terms are two years and the supervisors' terms are three years.
Amherst: Hugh F. Fendry II was elected as clerk with 16 votes and John Abrahamson was elected as supervisor with 16 votes.
Arendahl: Keith Brown was elected as clerk with 11 votes and Rudy Boyum was elected as supervisor with 10.
Bristol: Eunice Biel was elected to the position as clerk with nine votes and Brad Thorson was elected as supervisor with nine votes as well.
Canton: Fay Garness returns as clerk with 14 votes and Richard Bjertness was reelected as supervisor with 14 votes.
Carimona: Linda Marzolf received 22 votes to secure the clerk's seat and Arlynn Hovey was elected as supervisor with 21.
Carrolton: In one of the few contested races, Luanne Storelee was elected clerk with 88 votes with John Horihan receiving one. Horihan was elected as supervisor with 66 votes with Ricky Holland receiving 14 and Arlyn Johnson receiving 11.
Fillmore: Bonnie Heidtke was elected clerk with 83 votes. Nordeen Groth received one vote. Dale Shafer was elected supervisor with 85 votes and Michael Eickhoff received 13.
Forestville: Connie Morger received 21 votes to become clerk, while Linda Apenhorst received 19 in a close race. Dave Tart was elected supervisor with 39 votes, Terry Klomps received one vote.
Fountain: Paul M. Hamann was elected supervisor with seven votes.
Harmony: Kathy Whalen was elected as clerk with 21 votes. Glen Soppa received one vote. He was elected to the supervisor position with 13 votes with John A. Hanson receiving 8.
Holt: Chris Gudmundson was elected clerk and Loren Berge as supervisor with 11 votes each.
Newburg: Genette Halverson was elected as clerk and Steve Melbostad was elected as supervisor with 10 votes each.
Pilot Mound: William Sullivan was elected as clerk with 25 votes. Carol Horsman received one vote. Jordan Redalen was elected as supervisor with 28 votes.
Preble: David Larson was elected as clerk with 17 votes. Les Myhre received one vote. Steve Vrieze received 11 votes to become supervisor while David Williams received 8.
Preston: Curtis Bisek was chosen as clerk and Andrew Bisek as supervisor with 13 votes each.
York: Fred Scheevel was elected to the clerk's position and Aaron Klingsheim to the supervisor position with 13 votes each.
