Gordon Storlie, 67, of New Hampton, Iowa, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Gordon D. Storlie was born April 14, 1946, to Irving and Roby (Comstock) Storlie near Cherry Grove. He graduated from Harmony High School and attended vocational college in Austin for one year. He was married to Martha Retterath and later divorced, and he also married Marsha Lubben-Storlie.

Trucking around the United States and traveling the back roads, stopping at many remote places, was Mr. Storlie's passion. He was currently employed by Featherlite delivering trailers throughout the United States. Playing pool was a favorite activity of his, being a member of the Borderline Pool League for almost 40 years. Many people knew him as a talker. He could have a lengthy conversation with anyone, no matter if you were a stranger or a friend. He also enjoyed old country music, playing cards, going to casinos, fishing, family reunions, and old cars, especially Volkswagens.

He is survived by his special friend, Sharon Carpenter of New Hampton; children, Vickie Storlie of Mason City, Wanda (Phil) Mueller of Clarksville, Iowa, Rick (Maria Pfiffner) Storlie of Waterloo, Lucas Storlie, Rachel Storlie, Cassie Storlie, Landon Storlie, and stepson Jordan Lubben, all of New Hampton; grandchildren, Nolan Storlie, Tiffany Krahenbuhl, Megan Krahenbuhl, Calub Storlie, Courtney Storlie, DesiRay Storlie, and stepgrandson Hunter Lubben; brothers, Roger (Ann) Storlie of Wykoff, and Larry (Lyn) Storlie of Caledonia; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Roby, and brother, Darrell Storlie.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco with the Rev. Linda Prestholt officiating. Burial was scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Saetersdal Lutheran Cemetery.
