Theo Hazel, 84, of St. Char-les, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Golden Living Center in St. Charles.
Fern Theodosia "Theo" Hazel was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Miller, S.D., to Clinton and Agnes I. (McKay) Harrison. She grew up in rural St. Charles. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1945 and St. Paul Business College in 1946.
She married Roy Orin Hazel in April 19, 1947, in St. Paul. He died June 21, 2004.
She lived in rural Lanesboro from 1947 to 2006; in Shore-wood Senior Campus from 2006 to 2010; and two years in Golden Living Center in St. Charles. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Mardi Club in Lanesboro, and a member of the Eastern Star. She wintered in Florida from 1978 to 2005. She enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening and scrapbooking, as well as family picnics along the Root River on their farmland.
She is survived by three sons, Roy Orin "Skip" (Candy) Hazel, Jr., of St. Charles, Brian (Judy) Hazel of Lanesboro and Dr. Stewart (Mary) Hazel of Duluth; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lyle (Beverly) Harrison of La Crescent, Roger (Mary Ann) Harrison of Winston, Colo., and David (Mary Jane) Harrison of St. Charles; and one sister, Marga-ret Ischer of Port Ludlow, Wash.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris and Helen; and four brothers, Curtis, Wayne, Burton and William.
The funeral was held last Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Preston, with the Rev. Geno Pyse officiating. Burial was in the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
