Falcons lose to Caledonia, ready
for homecoming football Friday

Last Friday night the Fillmore Central football team made the trip to No. 1 ranked Caledonia (AA), losing to the Warriors by a score of 42-0.
Offensively, the Falcons never got untracked, losing 31 yards in 28 carries. Tyson Ristau led the Falcons with 23 net yards on seven carries. Dylan Bathke finished with 11 yards on four carries and McKinnen Stone had a net of one yard on seven carries. Three other ball carriers all ended up with negative yards: Bryce Whitehill (-30), Josh Jones (-25) and Monty Holm (-11).
Caledonia has outscored its opponents 82-16 in the last two games.
Through the air, quarterback Bryce Whitehill connected on six of 17 for 62 yards and Trace Tollefson was 0/1. Logan Masters had three receptions for 55 yards, Quentin Case caught one for eight yards and Jordan Miller had two catches for a net of -1 yard. Whitehill threw two interceptions and Tollefson missed on one.
All total, Fillmore Central had five turnovers (give-aways), while taking back just one.
Defensively, Connor Hanson continued his fine play, taking part in 14 tackles, two solos. Andy Love was in on a dozen tackles, including a team high five solos. Ristau had eight tackles (4 solo, 4 assists) and Masters had six (4s, 2a). Others making contributions on defense: Case (1s, 1a), Stone (4a), Jones (1s, 2a), Gatlin Woellert (1s, 1a), Jesse Nelson (1a), Clay Fishbaugher (2s, 2a), Holm (1s, 5a), Nick Mensink (1s, 2a), Zach Sorenson (2a), Brady McCabe (2a), Kirby O'Connor (1s) and Jordan Miller (3a).
Coming up with tackles for losses, or quarterback sacks were Ristau (s), Woellert (a), Hanson (2a), Love (2s, 2a), Holm (a) and Mensink (2a).

Friday night the Falcons play host to their "northern namesake," Wabasha-Kellogg. Wabasha-Kellogg has three wins this year over Kingsland (47-12), Goodhue (34-22) and Southland (28-20). Fillmore Central's two wins are against Hayfield (7-0) and Kingsland (46-13).
After W-K Friday night, Fillmore Central closes out the regular season with games at Goodhue and at home with Southland.
