A new transformer will be installed on Tuesday, April 23, at 1 a.m. at the Harmony substation, located at Second Avenue NW and Fourth Street NW. Therefore, almost the entire community (except the north industrial park area) will be without electricity starting on Tuesday, April 23, at 1 a.m. The outage is expected to last up to approximately five hours.

In July 2012, the transformer at the electric substation failed. Due to inventory challenges at the time, a replacement transformer was installed but was later determined to be oversized for the current/future community electric usage patterns.

The Harmony City Council approved installing a new transformer, that will not only match the city's usage patterns, but be more economical.

The planned outage was scheduled during the early morning hours to try and limit the impact this would have on the local residents and businesses.
