The Mabel Business Association brought Jolly Old St. Nicholas to the Mabel Area Community Center for the second consecutive year on Sunday, Dec. 9. Not only could children visit with Santa - but they could also have their picture taken, create a personalized frame, write Santa a letter, color pictures, play games and enjoy a snack. All was provided free of charge to families by the business association.

"We feel this is a community thing to have Santa come," explained Mabel Business Association member and treasurer LaVonne Mengis. "This is the perfect place to have Santa come now that we have this nice community center...and for young children to enjoy lunch and crafts. These are things that we do to keep things going and to promote Mabel...because small towns struggle; it is not easy."

The core of the volunteers at the event was Mabel Business Association members along with student volunteers from Mabel-Canton High School.
