The Mabel-Canton School District will be hosting graduation ceremonies for the class of 2014 on Friday evening, May 30, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

The school has announced that Emily Brumm is the class valedictorian and Sara Lind is the salutatorian.

Students graduating with high honors, achieving a grade point average of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 scale, are Brumm, Lind, Kourtney Coyle, Isabella Sand and Justin Ward.

Honor students, earning a grade point average of 3.25 to 3.69, are Abigail Hanson, Noah Manning, Jada Brunsvold, Lydia Geving, Ethan Brink, Hunter Johnson, Chelcie Busch and Christine Lee.

Members of the National Honor Society, from the graduating class, are Justin Ward, Belle Sand, Sara Lind, Emily Brumm, Kourtney Coyle and Abby Hanson.

Senior class officers are President Kaysie Kerns, Vice-president Lydia Geving, Treasurer Sara Lind and Secretary Noah Manning.

Class colors are royal blue, red and silver. The class flower is a blue rose with silver tips.

The motto chosen by the class is "Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you will go."

A special awards ceremony for scholarship presentation was held on Sunday evening, May 18. Look in next week's News-Record for photos from the graduation ceremony and a list of local scholarship recipients.
