"How many of you have met somebody new at school this year?" Ronald McDonald asked of Mabel-Canton Elementary students on Friday, Nov. 8.

With nearly all of the children's hands raised, Ronald said, "Wow, you are on a friendship adventure - just like I am!"

Mabel-Canton Elementary students were treated to an hour-long Ronald McDonald show, entitled "A Friendship Adventure." Throughout the show, Ronald incorporated magic, humor, audience participation, and song to help keep the students engaged - and to help reinforce important messages.

"This is a free hour long show geared towards treating people with respect, building friendships and how to handle bullies," said Matt Hulbert, the marketing manager of Courtesy Corporation/McDonald's. The program was provided free of charge to the Mabel-Canton school.

"Your job is to take a bully's power away," said Ronald to the children. "Believe in yourselves, believe in your own goodness - that is what matters. Just because a bully says something - does not make it true at all."

The same program was delivered at the Rushford-Peterson Elementary School earlier in the day.
