A few days ago, as I drove down our long driveway and made a right onto Highway 44 toward Canton, I couldn't help but notice a big deer not very far into the woods lying dead on our property. At that time I didn't think much of it; we have all seen dead deer and some of us have had the unfortunate luck of hitting one.

Today, I decided to take a closer look at the deer as I was walking to the mailbox. I was surprised and repulsed to see the beautiful animal's head had been cut off. I have no doubt that the rack on that deer was large, but what about respecting the rest of the animal?

If you as a hunter do not want the meat, isn't there a possible solution for disposal? I am not a hunter, nor from a hunting family and have nothing against the sport, but I question the moral obligation we all have to animals - and to each other.
