Alan L. Larson, 62, of Rochester, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1950, in La Crosse, Wis., to Leonard and June (Danner) Larson. He was raised in Mabel, where he graduated from high school in 1969.
He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and served in the National Guard for 16 years. He lived in Winona and Hammond, Minn., before moving to Rochester in 1986.
He worked as a welder for Crenlo Company in Rochester from 1978 to 2010 when he retired due to ill health.
On Aug. 9, 1986, he married Lynn Weber in Rochester. He was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling.
Survivors include his wife; his son, Joshua Alan Larson of Rochester; his mother, June Larson of Mabel; two sisters, Joyce (Kevin) Every of Preston; and and Laurie (Larry) Giford of Rochester; two nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard.
The memorial service was held last Saturday at Evangel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Utecht officiating. Burial was in the Mabel cemetery at a later date.
