Helen Jameson, 90, of Rochester, died Friday, May 2, 2014, after a 34-year battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of Oscar and Alice (Dahl) Jameson, born in Spring Grove Hospital on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1923.

She was a 1946 graduate of Mounds-Midway School of Nursing, and went on to earn a bachelor of science in 1959 and a master's of science in nursing administration in 1965, both from the University of Minnesota.

She enjoyed a long career in nursing and nursing administration.

She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. She was interested in genealogy, family, travel, her Norwegian heritage and playing cards.

She is survived by one sister, Myrtle Horihan of Mabel and five nieces and nephews, Sharon Frankovich, Fred (Trudy) Horihan, Jim (Carrie) Horihan, Dale (Julie) Horihan and JoAnn (Randy) Whitney.

A celebration of life was held at Bethel Lutheran Church, Saturday, May 17. At her request, her body was donated to the Mayo Research Department. In time, she will be cremated and buried at the Houston Lutheran Cemetery (stone church).
