M. Lingenfelter, 84, mother of Fountain woman

Marion Clara Lingenfelter, 84, of Spring Valley, died suddenly, Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 2012, while visiting her sister in Stewartville.
Marion was born Feb. 7, 1928, in New Richland Township, Waseca County, Minn., the daughter of Earl R. and Tilda (Kjonaas) Krueger. She graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1945. She married Robert J. Lingenfelter March 31, 1949, in Hartland, Minn. The couple lived in the Rochester and Fremont areas before moving to Spring Valley in 1970. She worked for Lewiston Public School for eight years and for 18 years in the superintendent's office in the Spring Valley school district before retiring in 1988. Robert died July 27, 1988.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley and was active in its circles and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Spring Valley VFW Auxiliary and Piecemakers Quilters. She enjoyed family and friends and baking lefse.
She is survived by four daughters, Cheryl (Dan) Boder of St. Paul, Diane (Will) Cowell of Ramsey, Cambridge Shire, United Kingdom, Louanne (Paul) Hamann of Fountain and Kathleen (Warren) Birch of Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Phyllis) Krueger of Milaca, Minn.; and one sister, Elsie Andresen of Stewartville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Randall, two grandchildren, Bryan and Sarah Lingenfelter, one sister, Florence Peterson, and two brothers, Donald, and Henry "Buddy" Krueger.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev, Beth Perez officiating. Burial of her cremains will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Friends may call at the church on Friday one hour before the service.
Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley is assisting the family with arrangements.
