Marjorie Forde, 73, of Decorah, Iowa, died early Friday morning, May 16, 2014, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah.

Marjorie Lauretta (Allen) Forde was born on July 31, 1940, the daughter of Lester and Lillian (Newgard) Allen in Spring Grove.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Hesper Lutheran Church.

She was united in marriage to Arlan Forde on Nov. 1, 1958, and they had two daughters, Arlene and Audrey.

Together they milked Jersey cows and raised feeder pigs. She worked for years at Northern Engraving in Waukon and other part time jobs.

She received her GED later in life.

She had many interests such as taking photos, collecting cookbooks and doing drawings and crafts. She was a member of Big Canoe Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Arlan Forde of Decorah, Iowa; her father, Lester Allen of Decorah, Iowa; two daughters, Arlene (Rick) Boynton of Eyota and Audrey (Larry) Cleveland of Lime Springs, Iowa; three half brothers, Bobby, David and Tom Stedman, all of Rockford, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Dustin (Andrea) Klimesh, Bryce (Natasha) Boynton, Bryant Boynton, Brandon (Amanda) Boynton, Ben Boynton, Breanna (Randy McClintock) Blegen, Chrysta (Jason) Steinlage, Heather (Tim) Alden, Eric (Mindy) Boynton, Brad (Dawn) Boynton and Dave (Sara) Cleveland and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Stedman.

Funeral services for her were held at Big Canoe Lutheran Church in Decorah on Thursday, May 22, with the Rev. Allen Vik officiating. Interment followed at Big Canoe Cemetery.
