Mary Beth Ulring, 59, of Chatfield, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, in her home after a courageous fight with cancer.

She was born July 11, 1954, to Myron and Beth (Manning) Bernard of Preston.

She graduated from Chatfield Senior High School in 1972. She then attended junior college in Rochester.

She worked at Mayo Clinic for a brief time. She worked at Chatfield Dental for about 35 years and at Skippy's grocery store as a cashier for eight years.

On April 15, 1978, she married Wayne Ulring. They were later divorced. They had two children, Scott and Nicole.

She enjoyed working, playing bridge, cooking, baking and entertaining family. She loved being outside amongst her flowers, going on walks, thunderstorms, dancing and listening to music.

She loved spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, Chris, and their two grandchildren. She was a kind and loving person to everyone.

She is survived by a daughter, Nicole (Chris) Ostby of Chatfield; grandchildren, Makynli and Deegan Ostby of Chatfield; three stepchildren, five stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild; nine brothers and sisters, Terri (Tom) Jaeger of Rochester, Debra (Loren) Viere of Sauk Rapids, Michael (Kathy) Bernard of Spring Valley, Dona (Terry) Bowen of Chatfield, Matthew (Maureen) Bernard of Pine Island, Mark (Shari) Bernard of Mantorville, Jason (Cheryl) Bernard of Chatfield and Jeffrey Bernard of Chatfield; plus many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her parents, Myron (Shirley) Bernard and Beth King of Chatfield.

Her son, Scott Ulring, precedes her in death.

A funeral was held last Thursday at Chatfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Debra Jene Collum officiating.
