Philip Wayne Severson, 45, of Rochester, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 7, 1967, in Rochester, to Larry and Suzanne Marjorie (Ellis) Severson. He attended schools in Lanesboro and graduated from Lanesboro High School. After graduation, he moved to Rochester and worked at the Ability Building Center.

He enjoyed traveling. He traveled to Alaska, Boston, Washington, D.C., New York City and many other destinations. He often returned with stories of meeting famous people. He was also a fan of the TV Land channel, especially watching MASH and Mayberry. He recently won a blue ribbon at the Olmsted County Fair for a drawing he submitted.

He will be missed by his many friends at ABC and his friend, Lars Bothun of Chatfield.

He is survived by two brothers, Shawn Severson of Fountain and Russell (Trina) Severson of Rochester; many friends and family also survive him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne, and his grandparents.

A graveside committal service was held last Friday, Sept. 27, at the Sumner Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Chatfield.

Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
