In the season's first track and field warm-up last weekend, athletes from Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton joined six other programs at Gostomski Fieldhouse, on the grounds of St. Mary's University in Winona.

Kenzie Broadwater of L/FC/M-C won the 55M dash in 7.61 seconds, while Quentin Case broke the tape in the boys' 55M hurdles (8.77). The Burros also won the girls' 1600 sprint medley (4:51.39). Members of that team included Kenzie Broadwater, Paige Bennet, Kendyl Bennet, and Bailey Ruen.

Other top five finishes included Rachel Eversole claiming second in the 400M, a fourth by Leah Ruen in the 800M, and a third and fourth at 1600M (Kiera Olson third, Leah Ruen fourth). In the ladies' 4x400M, the team of Alyssa Gathje, Kendyl Bennet, Paige Bennet, and Kenzie Broadwater took third. The L/FC/M-C 4x800 team of Maggie Decker, Sara Vettleson-Trutza, Bailey Ruen, and Alyssa Gathje also took third. Cassidy Ruud took fifth in high jump.

Gabe Decker took second in the 55M dash. Monty Holm and Bram Van Lent tied for second in the 200M dash. In the 400M, Quentin Case claimed second, and Trey Chiglo took fifth. Zach Voeltz took third at 800M. Travis Troendle got fifth in the 1600M run. Van Lent took fifth in the 55M hurdles. The team of Quentin Case, Damon Zutz, Treyton Chiglo, and Michael Harrison captured third in the 4x400M. The 4x800 team of Layton Howerton, Michael Harrison, Matthew Kiehne, and Zach Voeltz took fourth. The boys' 1600 sprint medley team of Alex Reed, Damon Zutz, Monty Holmes, and Layton Howerton also finished fourth. Eric Holst took fifth in a field of 34 shot put entrants.

The next meet of the year is a postponed trip to Rushford-Peterson. Weather permitting, the competition originally set for March 27 will be held on April 1. "All the rest of our meets will be held outdoors," coach Jared Pierce said.
