"Our team has a lot of experience playing together," said Fillmore Central coach Denise Case about the upcoming volleyball season.

Returning letter winners include seniors Taylor Case and Tori Peterson, juniors Sammi Bakke, Morgan Malley, Leah Scheevel, Kaitlynn Aug and Sara Schultz, and sophomores Larissa Armstrong and Shelby Ebner. Also listed on the roster, according to the Minnesota State High School League website is freshman Tayah Barnes.

"I'm looking for a lot of great things out of Case this year, along with Peterson and Scheevel who have shown much improvement. Malley, our setter, is definitely one of the strongest in our conference. The team has been working hard together and I'm looking for great things from them. This year will be exciting," said Case.

Case sees Mabel-Canton, Chatfield and Wabasha-Kellogg as the "teams to beat" in the conference and sub-section.

Last year the Lady Falcons were 8-2 (third place) in the TRC, 25-5 during the regular season, and 26-6 for the entire season, including playoffs. The gals lost to Mabel-Canton, 3-2, in the sub-section semi-finals last year.

Case, Malley and Peterson made the TRC All-conference team last year, with Bakke and Scheevel making the Honorable Mention team.

Fillmore Central hosts Winona Cotter Thursday night for the season opener. Cotter is a member of the Three Rivers Conference this year.
