Last week the Fillmore Central boys basketball team split a pair of Three Rivers Conference games, giving the Falcons a TRC record of 3-10, and an overall record of 4-13. The guys lost to Chatfield by three, 50-47, and beat Wabasha-Kellogg by three, 47-44.

In the loss to the Gophers, Nick Powell (14 points/12 rebounds) and Dan Gatzke (20 points/11 rebounds) each turned in double-doubles. Jacob Tammel contributed seven points and Logan Masters had a team high four assists.

As a team, Fillmore Central shot 50 percent from the field, 19 of 38, but only one for 10 from three-point range. At the free throw line they were eight for 10, one of their best games, percentage-wise. Gatzke (2/2), Masters (2/2) and Brandon Breitsprecher (1/1) were perfect at the line.

In the win over W-K, Dan Gatzke had another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Nick Powell was also in double-figures with 13 points. Quentin Case had one of his better games of the season with nine points. "Q" was two for three from the field and five for six from the line. Jacob Tammel was two for two at the charity stripe, accounting for his two points. Andrew Coyle hit three of four field goals for six points. Logan Masters had four points and six rebounds.

Monday (Mabel-Canton) and Tuesday (Lewiston-Altura) games for the boys were postponed and will be played Thursday (M-C) and Feb. 18 (L-A). Friday night the guys are at Dover-Eyota and Monday, Feb. 4, the team will host Houston. Tuesday the team will entertain Southland.
