Last Friday, the La Crescent Booster Club Invitational brought six teams of athletes to Earl Seaton Field on a warm but breezy afternoon. The meet was not scored for team points, but a number of Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton competitors wound up at or near the top in a variety of events.

L/FC/M-C thrower Olivia Haug hurled the discus into the record books, winning the event while breaking into the top 10 best girls' distances ever recorded at the meet (117 feet 8 inches). She also took fourth in shot put. For the boys, Burro Eric Holst also won the discuss with a throw of 122-07.

Quentin Case won both the 110-meter and 300M hurdles, recording times of 16.85 and 45. 53 seconds, respectively.

Kiera Olson won the 3200M with a time of 12:42.51. The 4x400M relay team of Cassidy Ruud, Sara Vettleson-Trutza, Bailey Ruen and Kenzie Broadwater won their event in 4:28.95. The 4x800 relay of Vettleson-Trutza, Leah Ruen, Alyssa Gathje and Bailey Ruen won in 10:39.66.

Leah Ruen took second in the 800M run, while Rachel Eversole did the same in the 300M hurdles. The 4x400M relay of Leah Scheevel, Rachel Kimball, Vettleson-Trutza and Kenzie Broadwater took second place, too.

Travis Troendle snagged second place in the boys 3200M. The relay squad of Montgomery Holm, Niko Anderson, Bram Van Lent and Gabe Decker took second in both the 4x100M and 4x200M. Decker also took second in pole vault while nursing a shoulder injury.

Van Lent took third in the 300M hurdles. The team of Case, Decker, Damon Zutz and Zach Voeltz got third place in the 4x400, while the 4x800 team of Matthew Kiehne, Steven Rein, Layton Howerton and Treyton Chiglo took third, and Zach Voeltz grabbed third in the 1600M run as well.

Kenzie Broadwater, Scheevel, Kimball and Belle Sand took third in the 4x100M relay. Michaela Brazee finished third in pole vault and Kenzie Broadwater took third in long jump.

Ruud took fourth in the 400M dash. Sand tied for fourth in high jump and Maggie Decker tied for fourth in pole vault.

Anderson took fourth in the 200M dash. Van Lent tied for fourth in triple jump and Holst took fourth in shot put.

The Burros were scheduled to run at Rushford-Peterson on Tuesday, April 29. One week later, a True Team meet at Triton will include L/FC/M-C.
