Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/Mabel-Canton picked up a win in its first wrestling meet of the season Thursday, downing St. Charles 44-36 at home.

FC/L/M-C had to forfeit the four lowest weights, but was strong otherwise, taking seven of the nine matchups that didn't involve a forfeit. Five of those wins were by pin.

Gaining points for the team were Alex Fishbaugher with a 5-2 decision over Lane Heim at 126 lbs., Gabe Decker with a pin in 0:55 over Juan Gasca-Rajas at 138 lbs., Andy Love with a technical fall over Ricardo Chavez at 145 lbs., Connor Hanson with a pin in 2:37 over Darian Doan at 152 lbs., Trevor Barnes with a pin in 3:04 over Jericho Brown at 160 lbs., Tom Henry with a pin in 1:07 over Marshal Majerous at 182 lbs., and Monty Holm with a pin in 2:30 over Landon Majerus at 220 lbs. Also, Niko Anderson won by forfeit at 195 lbs.

The team was scheduled to compete at La Crescent Tuesday, Dec. 10, after this edition went to press. Then, it is off to a Logan tournament on Saturday and a dual meet at Plainview next Tuesday, Dec. 17. The large home holiday tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21, closes out the schedule for 2013.
