The Fillmore Central Elementary School in Preston will have its annual kindergarten round-up informational meeting for parents and visitation for students on Tuesday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary gym. Please use the elementary entrance.

Fillmore Central offers an all-day, every-day kindergarten program.

Parents whose children will be attending kindergarten during the 2014-2015 school year are asked to attend along with their child. Information about the kindergarten program will be shared and a general question and answer time provided.

Bring a copy or the original legal birth certificate; immunization record for DTP, polio, MMR, hepatitis B and others; and evidence of completion of early childhood screening. If one brings an original document, the staff will make a copy for the school file. If a child completed early childhood screening by the Fillmore Central District, those records will be on file.

To register for kindergarten, a child must by 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2014, and the above information is required by law for registering the child for kindergarten.

During the classroom visit one will be exploring the room with different activities. The staff will also offer supervision for a family's other children on Tuesday evening if needed.

Please contact Brenda Ristau with the number of children during the Tuesday evening meeting so she can plan for the number of supervisors needed.

Parents whose kindergarten children will be attending Fillmore Central School should have received a kindergarten registration packet. If parents have not, please call the elementary office.

If one has any questions or concerns or are unable to attend the round-up, call the elementary office at 765-3809.

If parents have made the decision NOT to send a child to kindergarten this fall, please contact the school as soon as possible.
