Eight teams competed at the 26th annual Lake City Invitational golf tournament on April 29. A men's-only event, the tourney was won by the home team (LC), which finished at 336, three strokes ahead of Wabasha-Kellogg. Zumbrota-Mazeppa took third (350), followed by Rushford-Peterson (380), St. Charles (384), Houston (389), and Plainview-Elgin-Millville (399).

A young team from Lanesboro finished in eighth place with a team total (four lowest scores combined) of 418 for the 18- hole event. The Burros have no seniors this year, and only one junior and sophomore player. Four freshmen are gaining valuable varsity experience as the season kicks off, however.

For Lanesboro, sophomore Liam Dorn turned in the sixth-best score in a field of 47 entrants, shooting an 83. Fletcher Blaschko of W-K was meet medalist at 78. Other LHS varsity scores included a 104 from Adam Sutter, a 108 by Tristen Chiglo, and a 123 from Markus Mulvihill. Nick Wagner and Nathan Eversole also played for the varsity.
