Persistent rains called off a Rushford-Peterson-hosted track meet for Lanesboro/Fillmore Central/Mabel-Canton last Tuesday, but the Burros found an open event to run, jump and throw at on Friday.

The Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander/Southland Invite featured teams from five programs. The hosts took first in girls events, followed by Stewartville. L/FC/M-C took third. For the boys, Stewie was first and L/FC/M-C second, with Hayfield taking third.

Burro Mac Stone won the shot put event with a throw of 42 feet, 6 inches. He also tied for fourth in discus. Teammate Eric Holst took third in discus and fifth in shot put.

Quentin Case won the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.67 seconds. He was followed across the line by teammate Bram Van Lent. The same duo took the top two places in the 300M hurdles, in reverse order. Van Lent won that one in 45.36. He also got third in the 200M dash, and fourth in triple jump.

Travis Troendle won the 800M run in 2:13.91. The junior also took third at 1600M.

Niko Anderson was busy as well. He took second in the 100M and 200M sprints, and third in long jump.

The 4x800 relay of Treyton Chiglo, Steven Rein, Matthew Kiehne, and Zach Voeltz took second place, too. Voeltz went on to add team points by taking third in the 400M dash.

Alex Reed took third in pole vault and fifth in long jump. Marcus Mulvihill got third at high jump.

For the ladies, Bailey Ruen took first place in the 3200M run (13.26.09). She also ran on the winning 4x800M relay squad with Kiera Olson, Paige Bennett, and Kendyl Bennett. Olson added more team points by taking third in the 1600M run.

The 4x200 relay won their event as well (1:59.35). They featured Leah Scheevel, Kenzie Broadwater, Cassidy Ruud, and Paige Bennett. Broadwater also took second in the 100M and 200M dash events, and fourth in long jump.

Olivia Haug scored second place finishes in both discus and shot put.

The 4x400M relay of Rachel Eversole, Leah Ruen, Leah Scheevel, and Paige Bennett finished second, and Alyssa Gathje took second in the 800M run.

Kendyl Bennett also took third in the 400M dash.

Eversole added to her points by getting third place in the 100M hurdles. Leah Ruen took fourth in the 1600M run.

Cassidy Ruud got fifth in the 800M run. Michaela Brazee took fifth in pole vault, and Scheevel finished fifth in long jump.

L/FC/M-C was scheduled to attend a True Team meet on May 6 at Triton. The SEC meet is set for May 13 at Grand Meadow, with another R-P hosted event two days later.
