Fillmore Central golf gets going

Golf was the last spring sport to get going as the Fillmore Central boys and girls got in their first meets of the season recently.
The gals lost to Caledonia, 224-231, in their first outing of the season. Keeley Todd, FC junior, shot a 48 and was the medalist for the meet. Other Falcon scores: Katie Tammel (54), Laura Donney (60), Haley Ostrom (69), Skyelar Veiseth (74) and Elayna Kiehne (78). JV scores: Grace Miller (64), Cailey Rindels (75), Rianna Ryan (78), Katelyn Hansen (83) and Payton Schwingle (86).
The second meet for the girls resulted in a forfeit win, because Kingsland did not have a full team. The gals ended up with a team score of 215, led by Keeley Todd's 49. Others playing on the varsity for FC were Laura Donney (51), Katie Tammel (57), Grace Miller (58), Elayna Kiehne (61) and Haley Ostrom (84). Teams play six and score four!
This past Monday night the boys picked up a win over Kingsland, 168-207. Leading the way for the Falcons was Trevor Barnes, 39. Jordan Miller was one shot back at 40. Other varsity scores were Alex Lange (44), Ascher Ostrom (45), Mike Walsh (45) and Matt Guttormson (49).
JV scores against Kingsland: Nate Birch (48), Garrett Barnes (53), Lee Dyreson (56), Vaughan Schmidt (63), Kurtis Hershberger (75).
In the first meet of the season, the guys scored a win over Rushford-Peterson, 183-189. Jordan Miller was medalist in the meet, shooting a round of 41 for nine holes. Other scores: Barnes (44), Guttormson (48), Walsh (50), Lange (50) and Ostrom (60).
JV scores against the Trojans: Dacoda Johnson (50), Birch (51), Schmidt (51), Barnes (52), Dyreson (54) and Hershberger( 60).
