Five wrestlers from the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/ Mabel-Canton wrestling team medaled at the Section 1A Individual Tournament last week.

Niko Anderson, Wolves 160 pounder, had a shot at the state, but lost a true second match, 5-0, to Porter Secrist, Wabasha-Kellogg. Anderson was the No. 4 seed in the tournament. Anderson lost his semi-final match to Will Balow, Lake City, eventual section champion. Anderson finished with a record of 3-2 and the third place medal.

Fifth place medals went to Connor Hanson (126 lbs.) and Monty Holm (170 lbs.). Hanson went 4-2 in the tournament and Holm was even at 2-2.

Picking up sixth place medals were Alex Fishbaugher (120 lbs, 2-3) and Tom Henry (152 lbs., 1-3). Henry had to forfeit his last two matches on Saturday because of an injury.

Other Wolves at the tournament and their records were...Chris Collett (113 lbs, 2-2), Gabe Decker (132 lbs., 0-2), Andy Love (138 lbs., 1-2), Josh Jones (145 lbs., 0-2), and Jarrett Brown (285 lbs., 0-2).

Results of KFIL-FM (103.1) listening-area wrestlers will be broadcast from the State Wrestling Tournament this coming Friday and Saturday. That will include wrestlers from Caledonia/Houston/Spring Grove, Chatfield, Dover-Eyota, Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland, Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson, Plainview-Elgin-Millville, St. Charles and Stewartville.
