Last week, the Fillmore Central volleyball team won two matches, one a non-conference dual with Chatfield (3-1: 29-27, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17) and the other, a TRC match-up with St. Charles (3-0: 25-19, 25-13, 25-14).

In the non-conference win over the Gophers, Taylor Case (19) and Tor Peterson (17) led the team in kills. The gals had a total of 51 "spikes" against Chatfield and 174 attacks. Morgan Malley had 39 of the team's 44 set assists. Leah Scheevel had 4.5 ace blocks, to go along with three kills. Top servers were Case (17/17, 2 aces), Sammi Bakke (19/20, 1 ace), Danielle Zinsmaster (6/6), Malley (15/16, 2 aces) and Larissa Armstrong (8/8). Tops in serve receives were Taylor Case (8/8), Tor Peterson (5/5), Chelsea Rislove (27/30), Danielle Zinsmaster (12/13) and Sara Schultz (14/19). Dig leaders were Morgan Malley (21), Case (17), Rislove (13) and Zinsmaster (9).

The serving against St. Charles was a little bit below par, as the gals committed eight serving errors, connecting on 88.9 percent of their serves. Tops in serving were Taylor Case (16/16), Tor Peterson (15/16), Chelsea Rislove (4/4), and Danielle Zinsmaster (4/4). Tor Peterson had three ace serves, while Sammi Bakke nailed two. Taylor Case led the team with 14 kills and a hitting efficiency of .394. Leah Scheevel had 10 kills and led the team with a hitting average of .429. Tor Peterson added nine kills against the Saints. Morgan Malley had 33 of the team's 34 set assists. SR leaders were Chelsea Rislove (16/17), Sammi Bakke (3/3), Tor Peterson (3/3), Taylor Case (7/8) and Danielle Zinsmaster (5/6). Zinsmaster led the team with seven digs.

The "bombers" lost both matches, 2-0 against Chatfield, and 2-1 with the Saints. The B squad is now 4-5 in Three Rivers Conference match-ups and 8-9, overall. Travis Malley coaches the FC B squad.

Tuesday night the Falcons hosted Lewiston-Altura (3-6, 11-16) for the last regular season match. Next week the gals will start play in the East 1A Sub-section Tournament.
