Burro golfers hosted the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics on a warm, sunny April 30.

Johanna Bearson led the LHS ladies team, turning in the low round of 47 at the Lanesboro Golf Club. Other varsity scores included a 62 by McKenzie Hanson, a 65 from Brooke Kimball, and a 69 for Alexis Jorgensen, making a team total of 243.

For L/P, only two players competed for the girls' varsity. That left their team total as "incomplete." Maggie Lief shot the second-lowest score of the afternoon with a round of 55. Kim Krulish shot 71.

For the gents, LHS won by six, 191-197. Liam Dorn medaled, cracking the 40-mark with a 39. Other varsity scores included a 49 from Tristen Chiglo, a 51 from Adam Sutter, and a 52 from Markus Mulvihill. Nick Wagner (60) and Nathan Eversole (71) also played for the varsity.

Ben Aho had the lowest score for the A's at 48. Spencer Holtorf and Ted King brought in 49s, while Thomas Marx shot 51. Collin Goldberg (64) and Troy Seguin (85) also teed off for the varsity round. There were no JV scores reported.

Two meets were postponed later in the week due to weather. Thursday was an away date at Glenville-Emmons, while Friday was to have been a home match with the same pair of Wolverine teams.

Just before the press deadline on Monday, the Burro golfers played at Austin versus Lyle/Pacelli. The girls won by forfeit with a score of 238 while the Lanesboro boys fell by nine strikes, 200-191. Look for complete coverage in next week's Republican-Leader.

Next up is the Stewartville Invitational at Willow Creek today (Thursday). The GMLO Bulldogs were scheduled to visit Lanesboro on Friday.
