Returning letter winners Alexis Jorgenson, Kelsey O'Koren, Olivia Haug, Claire Peterson, Cassidy Ruud, Rachel Kimball, Steph Erickson, Rachel Eversole and Olivia Rogers will lead the Burros out onto the volleyball court this year.

Senior Erickson (5-5) earned the Most Valuable Player award in team voting last year. Her season totals included 206 set assists, 89 digs, and 33 ace serves. She'll move from setter to outside hitter.

Senior Haug totaled 43 ace blocks last year. Listed as an outside hitter, she's the tallest player on the roster at 6-0.

Other seniors include Jorgenson, who was named most improved player in 2013. At 5-9, she's listed at middle hitter. Peterson (5-9) checks at defensive specialist. O'Koren (5-8) is listed at outside hitter. Caitie Good (5-8) will play middle hitter.

Juniors include Kimball (5-6) at outside hitter, Eversole (5-4), also at OH, Madeline Snyder (5-6) is listed at middle hitter, as is Rogers (5-8). Other juniors are Kaelen Atkinson (5-7), and Halle Scott (5-9), who are both listed as outside hitters.

Ruud (5-8) returns as a sophomore. She'll also play OH. Setter Lexi Melander (5-4) is also in 10th grade.

Lanesboro posted a record of 3-15-1 in 2013.

Head coach Chris Knutson will be joined by assistants Darla Taylor and Dave Rogers. Krissy Overland will run the C team.

Knutson said that the goal for LHS netters this season is to be competitive in the section. A strong set of returning players with a positive outlook should make that possible. The favorites this year will be Mabel-Canton and Fillmore Central, she added.
