The Fillmore Central volleyball team picked up a pair of wins this past week, improving its overall record to 3-0.

The gals got a non-conference win over Chatfield (3-0; 25-13, 25-23, 25-21) and a Three Rivers Conference win over Lewiston-Altura (3-0; 25-16, 25-9, 25-8). The Falcons are now 2-0 in TRC play, tied with Wabasha-Kellogg, Dover-Eyota and Chatfield, all currently 2-0.

In the conference win over the Cardinals, five gals were perfect at the service line, Taylor Case (11/11), Tori Peterson (12/12), Morgan Malley (2/2), Kaitlyn Aug (5/5) and Sara Schultz (7/7). The team also had 11 ace serves, three each for Larissa Armstrong, Aug and Peterson, and two for Case.

At the net, FC was led by Case (11 kills, 1 ace block), Peterson (6K), Leah Scheevel (7K) and Sammi Bakke (7K, 2 ace blocks). Setter Malley (20 set assists) also had a great game at the net, delivering four kills for the Falcons.

As a team, Fillmore Central was 30 of 32 in their serve receives (SR). Leading the way were Schultz (9/9), Case (3/3), Tayah Barnes (7/8) and Armstrong (11/12). Defensively, Armstrong led the team with a dozen digs, followed by Case (10) and Malley (8).

In the three set win over Chatfield, Case (18 kills, .405 hitting), Peterson (11 kills, .471 hitting), Scheevel (4 kills, 4 ace blocks) and Aug (4 kills, .333 hitting) led the offense. Serving leaders were Malley (13/13, 4 aces), Armstrong (11/12), Bakke (13/15, 2 aces) and Schultz (5/5).

The dig stats were very balanced: Case (8), Malley (6), Barnes (8), Armstrong (9) and Schultz (7).

Malley had 34 of the team's 35 set assists.

The match with Lanesboro, scheduled for this past Monday, was postponed and will be played on Monday, Sept. 30. The Falcons travel to Wabasha-Kellogg Thursday to take on their northern namesake in a key TRC match-up. Saturday the gals travel right back to W-K to take part in the Vets Tournament.
