Last year the Rushford-Peterson Trojans finished third and are looking to improve on that this year. R-P is making its 12th state tournament appearance with state championships in 2006 and 1989. In '89 they were just Rushford, not Rushford-Peterson.

Rushford-Peterson's first round opponent is Lakeview Christian, Duluth. One of Lakeview Christian's players is Anders Broman, Minnesota's most prolific scorer. He currently has 5,087 points in his career, averaging 41.7 ppg this year, and shooting 58.1 percent from the field and 92 percent at the free throw line. His younger brother, Bjorn, is averaging 21.1 ppg. Sophomore Cole Kingsley leads the Trojans in scoring at 10.90 ppg. R-P has seven players between 5.2 and 10.9 points per game.
