Arnold Tillman Dammen, 84, of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in La Crosse, Wis., to Lee and Agnes (Sand) Dammen. He grew up in Lanesboro, and in 1941, moved to Austin where he later married Norma Wilson. She died in 1979. In January of 1983, he married Marie (Donovan) Fuller in Austin.

He worked at various Ford dealerships in Austin as a service manager and salesman for over 50 years.

Hunting, fishing and spending time with grandchildren were among his favorite pastimes, as well as camping, gardening and traveling with his wife, Marie. They wintered in Arizona for 14 years, where he was involved in many activities. She died in December 2011.

He spent his last few years at Prairie Manor where he made friends and was the "gardener in charge" at their Heather Haus patio garden.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Diane (Ron Schmidt) Fuller of Austin; stepsons, Richard Fuller of Rochester, Tom (Lena Acebo) Fuller of Oakland, Calif., and Terry (Heather) Fuller of Neenah, Wis.; 10 step grandchildren; two brothers, Anton 'Bud' Dammen of Blooming Prairie and David (Diane) Dammen of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma, his second wife, Marie, and his brother, Douglas Dammen.

A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Austin, with the Rev. James Steffes officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Heather Haus Patio/Garden Improvement in Blooming Prairie, or to the recipient of donor's choice.
