Aune Ethel Lind, 98, of Peoria, Ariz., and once of Harmony, died at the Freedom Plaza Care Center in Peoria on Sept. 11, 2012.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1914, in Floodwood, Minn., to Josephine and William Ylitalo.

She married Carl V. Lind on July 20, 1941, and they had their first child, Ethel Ann, while Carl was serving in the Armed Forces in India. He learned of her birth by telegram. After his return, they had two more children, Karen Sue ("Susie") and Dennis. They raised their children in small towns in Minnesota, including Harmony during the 1950s and 1960s where Mr. Lind worked at the local bank.

Mrs. Lind was an amazing cook, a generous and gracious hostess and a loyal friend. She loved a good card game, the Diamondbacks, The Suns, her poodle, Noel, and listening to music. She loved to bake, and spoiled all with her homemade Finnish cinnamon bread.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; her three children and their spouses, Ethel Ann and David, Karen Sue and Joe, and Jessica and Dennis; grandchildren, Kristin, Jon, Chris, Tim, Jessica, Amy, Katie and Sarah, and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Grace, Isabelle, Eleanor, Alexandra and one on the way!

A funeral service was held for family members on Sept. 16 at Sunland Mortuary in Peoria.
