Cathleen Hatling, 84, of Rushford and a native of Harmony, died at her daughter Patty Barton's home Dec. 10, 2012, in Eitzen.

She was born July 5, 1928, in Harmony to Harold and Irene Flynn. She graduated from Harmony High School.

Cathleen was married to Rolf Hatling Sept. 8, 1956, at the Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony. They farmed in Preble Township until they moved to Rushford in 1959. She worked at Berger and Hilda Halvorson's grocery store and other local stores until she began a 29-year career at the Rushford Municipal Liquor Store.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rushford. She enjoyed walking, cooking, baking, taking drives to eat at the area supper clubs, and being with her family.

Cathleen is survived by her daughter, Patty (Ken) Barton of Eitzen, and son, Jeff (Lee) Hatling of Kernersville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two brothers Jim (Sonja) Flynn of Rockford, Ill., and Donnie (Jean) Flynn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf Hatling, her sister Dorothy Amdahl, and her parents.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Mabel with Father Shawn Haremza officiating. Family will greet people before the service. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in rural Canton.
