Daniel Hahn, once of Preston

Daniel Jordan Hahn, Lt. Col. USAF, (Ret.) of Bossier City, La., died May 10, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport, La., after a long illness.
Originally from Preston, he had lived in Bossier City for the past 50 years. He met his wife, Jane Hiser, during his pilot training and they built their family while he served in the Air Force for nearly 25 years. He flew everything from cargo and training planes to jet bombers, notably the B-47 during the Cold War. He fought in Southeast Asia as an O-1 Bird Dog forward air controller and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star and 12 Air Medals.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, John and Michael; daughters, Deborah, Barbara and Kathleen; sister, Joyce Wethe Robertson of Orange County, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben J. Hahn; his mother, Faith Darling Hahn; and his brother, Kenneth Hahn, all of Preston.
Services were held last Friday at Barksdale United Methodist Church in Bossier City, with the Rev. Kendall Docter officiating. Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arcadia, La., with USAF honors.
