R. Merchlewitz, 53, brother of Lanesboro man

Randy P. "Buck" Merchlewitz, 53, of Winona, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Winona Health in Winona.
He was born March 28, 1959, in Winona, to Richard J. and Nancy L. (Cole) Merchlewitz. He was raised in Stockton. He worked as a cement mason for many years.
He married Jeanne Weisbrod; they were later divorced. On Dec. 7, 2002, he married Theresa Flaten.
Buck was an excellent carpenter.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, canning and wildlife picture painting. He also enjoyed spending time with his two friendly companions, his goat, Annie and his dog, Ranger.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Crystal Merchlewitz of Dover; three step-sons, Jeremy (Emy) Rabe of Fillmore, Jamie (Stephanie) Rabe of Zumbrota and Dean (Denise) Rabe, Jr., of Stockton; parents, Richard and Nancy Merchlewitz of Winona; grandchildren, Destiny, Dyllan, Autumn, Lilly, Aydin, Charlie, Jeremy, Gabriel and Olivia; brothers, Rick (Karla) Merchlewitz of Lanesboro, Ronald (Arlene) Merchlewitz of Winona, Robert Merchlewitz, of Stockton, Russell Merchlewitz of Mankato and Rodney (Tammy) Merchlewitz of Ridgeway.
Buck was preceded in death by his brother, Roger "Bugsy" Merchlewitz; his grandparents, Joseph and Rose Merchlewitz and Delmer and Mary Cole and by his uncle, Joe Merchlewitz.
A celebration of his life was held last Saturday, Jan. 5, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview.
