Cynthia Ann Stroud died on July 24, 2013, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester surrounded by family.

She was born in Spring Grove, on Jan. 29, 1948, to Donald and Nellie (Bates) Stroud. She attended Mabel Public School until moving to Rochester in 1956. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966 and attended Rochester Junior College and Moorhead State University before being hired by the Kahler Hotel.

She was a longtime employee of Dayton's department store and retired from the Target Corporation in 2012.

She liked to travel, going to the movies and reading a good book. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and her swimming pals.

She is survived by three sisters, Shirley (Orlin) Larson of Rochester, Virginia McConnell of Minneapolis and Barbara (Gordon) McCann of Homosassa, Fla., and one brother, Dale (Mary) Stroud of Edina.
