JuliaClaire Repeat Boutique will be opening in Preston, Tuesday, April 10.

This consignment shop will feature new and gently used, better clothing, shoes and accessories for women men and children. In addition, the store will carry new and used books, distinctive home accessories and art created by local Minnesota artisans.

JuliaClaire is geared to the local community with the hope that shoppers will stretch their spending dollars by purchasing consignment items in the local community before shopping elsewhere.

Another way the shop hopes to bring in local customers is by having more convenient shopping hours. JuliaClaire will be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as Thursday evenings until 8:30. Lady's Shopping Night will be held the first Thursday evening each month.

Owner Trish Keating stated, "We plan to team up with other shops on Fillmore Street and in the area that are open on Thursday nights to offer fun events and specials. So far the Family Hair Center, Preston Foods and Chic's Pizza are on board. I am hoping to make shopping in Preston more convenient and to create a pleasant and fun shopping experience."

"I have been an avid recycler for as long as I can remember; I enjoy repurposing (finding uses for items) things that are no longer useful in their original capacity," explained Keating.

She has a great deal of retail and retail management experience and enjoys sales as well as marketing, so the new boutique seems to be a "perfect fit" for her.

While living in St. Paul, she found many ways to contribute to her favorite organizations and would like to do the same here in southeast Minnesota. Collecting and selling donated items for those charities is a great way to do this.

Keating hopes to work with a different charity each quarter and looks forward to suggestions from the community as to which charities they would like to see served. The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life will be the first recipient of items donated and sold through June.

Individuals who are interested in donating or consigning items are urged to call Keating for drop-off times and consignment terms for items they wish to sell.

In addition, if you have a charity that is near and dear to your heart, let Keating know about it and she will consider it as a recipient of her quarterly gift giving.
