Put your thinking caps on, because the Spring Grove Lions Club will host its third annual trivia night on Saturday, April 22, in the Legion front room.

Registration is now open for teams to sign up. There is space for up to 10 teams with 10 members each; team registration is $100 per team, Lions member Jacqui VanMinsel said.

“It’s competitive and fun,” VanMinsel noted.

Onlookers are welcome to watch the contest and are advised to come early to get a seat.

Social hour is at 6 p.m., and the trivia will start at 7 p.m. There will be 10 categories ranging from A to Z and 10 questions per round. The categories are different from previous years, VanMinsel explained.

The winning teams can select which non-profit group (a qualified 501c3) their money should go to. This year, teams are able to buy two answers per round.

“Trivia night is a really fun event that the Lions use to raise money and engage the community,” Mayor Sarah Schroeder pointed out.

Typically, the event is held in February, but other events caused the Lions Club to move it to April, Mayor Sarah Schroeder explained. Next year, it will return to February.

“It is nice to have a fun event to look forward to in the winter,” Schroeder said.

Schroeder and her husband, Mark, will emcee the event.
